Time just passed by too fast.
The first time I met JYing was in June 2020. Mentioned year of 2020, many life face a lot of challenges. I guess the most challenges is when one has a child with learning and development delay.
Prior therapy and IEP lesson. in general i dont like to mentioned the delay of the child or post any photo of prior and post therapy and lesson. I respect each individual child. Hence you don’t see the video and photos.
JYing. age 9
- She does not relate to the environment
- Poor postural, was not aware of her body orientation, easily fall down while walking
- She yet to development speech, cognitively she was much delay.
- She yet to read, write and count.
- She was former seizures child…
- She yet to understand instruction. if she yet to understand, indirect she may not able to listen to instruction.
Those are some of the challenges I listed.
Along the years of hand on with children, they had taught me to table my rules before I proceed further. I did it with most of the cases. Will the children understand , well I believed they will understand.
In most of the class, JYing will refuse to go back home, after therapy time i will have to help to walk her to the car. Thankful miracle happened, as i work on i begin to see a huge room in improvement in her.
Weekly her mom will update me on her responds at home. All are positive feedback. She begin to have verbal/ speech. It is a meaningful verbal. eg on one occasion, her young brother took her block, she begin to protect her block by saying “this is mine” . Few occasion grandma has video call with her mom, JYing will come behind her mom to see the video call and she call grandma “po po” .
